Four groups of records to prepare

  • Business identity

PAN, address proof and relevant business-constitution documents. A sole proprietor, partnership and company may need different papers.

  • Banking history

Recent statements for the accounts used by the business. Ask for the period required and explain if turnover is spread across accounts.

  • Income and financial records

Tax returns, accounts and current business performance may be requested. Ask which records apply to your business and whether provisional accounts are accepted.

  • Purpose of the loan

For equipment or expansion, a lender may ask for quotations, project details or projections. A secured loan may require additional property papers.

Explain the business in everyday numbers

For a shop in Siliguri, start with a short summary: what you sell, how long the business has operated, typical monthly collections and regular costs. Separate sales from the money left after expenses.

If you need money for stock, write down the purchase cost and when you expect customers to pay. For equipment, write down the price and how it could change your income or expenses. These notes help the first discussion; they do not replace the lender’s required records.

Use a slower trading month when thinking about repayments. A payment that works only during your busiest month may leave too little for rent, wages and stock.

What if some records are missing?

Tell the lender what you have before making an application. Ask whether there is a suitable product for your business age, income evidence and security position.

Do not assume every business loan needs the same years of accounts, GST status or collateral. Equally, a missing record does not mean a lender will waive it. Get a clear checklist for the specific product and keep your figures accurate.

What to discuss on the first call

Credziva can help you organise the next steps for a business loan enquiry in Siliguri. The lender assesses the business and decides eligibility, security and terms.

  • The amount and purpose

Explain what you need to fund, when you need it and how much you can contribute.

  • Existing repayments

Include current business and personal commitments when discussing a manageable payment.

  • The proposed facility

Ask whether it is a term loan, working-capital facility or another product, and how repayments and charges work.
